Whirlwind

Hello world!

Ok so the past few days have been NUTS!! Amazingly great but nuts! First of all I got my VISA! yay!! This was the only hiccup that was going to set back my travels but the gracious people at the US Embassy fell in love with my story and allowed me to receive this important document that very day. Wonderful news right? Wait it gets better.

On Thursday April 26 His Excellency Sir Arthur Foulkes, Governor General of The Bahamas, invited me to his home, Government House, where he offered me some tea and inquired  more about this adventure I was embarking on. His Excellency, who shared his thoughts about plastic pollution within The Bahamas, particularly on the Island of Inagua, was excited about my expedition and wanted to garner press for it. Gena Gibbs, an eco-journalist from Bahamas Information Systems came to my house to conduct an interview detailing my background, purpose of the trip and goals post trip. We chatted for nearly two hours and covered a broad spectrum of environmental issues within the country. Once Gena is done writing up this story it will appear in The Nassau Guardian and/or The Nassau Tribune so lookout world, I'm coming to a news stand near you!

I'm about to turn in to a blogging maniac here soon so please stay tuned!!

Peace =)

Kristal Ocean.
